that I've previously posted concerning being pleased with my QB-57, but this evening I was 4 for 4 on starlings from my fly tying room window. It's 25 yards from the finch feeder, and actually with open sights it seems more consistant than my NP hardwood. To say I'm pleased would still be an understatement. I highly recommend one to anyone who just wants a fun and accurate sidelever to plink with.

I know what you mean, they really are fun little rifles. I have one in each caliber, both home tuned and both are deadly accurate. During rabbit season I love to slowly work my way through the briar patches during the last couple of hours of daylight with one of my 57's trying to sneak up on bunnies coming out to feed. The short little carbine is perfect for this type of hunting and I've managed to harvest a few nice rabbit dinners that way

If it was easy it wouldn't be hunting it would be shopping.

I like my QB .22 very much unfortunately my eyesight requires a scope. I find the size of this gun perfect for backyard duty and its not very noisy. How ever I have had to re-crown the barrel as the bore wasn't centered in the barrel which made the factory crown crappy. I also did all the required polishing and lubricating with the recommended lubes. I replaced the spring guide and added a tophat and sleeved the spring in the piston. I get 570 to 580 fps smoothly. I had found though that it didn't like CPHPs and unfortunately I have very little choice locally and I refuse to order from afar or make long journeys to find an alternative so I found it necessary to take drastic action and add choke to my barrel which immediately solve the CPHP problem and any other accuracy inconsistency problems I was having with any of the pellets I tried. I would whole heartedly recommend this rifle to anyone and especially anyone who wasn't scared of taking it apart to see what they can do with it.

Garth,
How did you choke the barrel? I would love to be able to do this on some of my guns.
