Browning 800 Express .22 Red Dot mounting issues

I'm having a real problem with scope creep on this gun. My current setup is a UTG 11mm to Weaver scope rail with a BSA red dot mounted to it. Seems that no matter how tight the rig is it still creeps. Has anybody found a system that works well with this gun?

Hi Chuck, I am thinking the Browning 800 is the same as the Hatsan Striker 1000 (but in .22) Assuming this is the case...... The biggest "issue" with all the Hatsans I have purchased, is the lack of lube inside the gun (particularly on the spring) This causes all sorts of (minor) problems, with, recoil, "twang" and rough cocking. I do not know if you have stipped your Browning yet, but it sounds like it could do with a good strip, lube and general fettle. There are repurcussions with the "standard" gun and recoil is the biggest bugbear. This is what I think is causing your "creep". The othere solution is to drill and tap a M4 hole for a grubscrew through the mount and lacate the screw into the arrestor holes in the top[ of the action.

Looks like Gary has given you some good info, except for one thing its a rebadged Hatsan mod 25 not a Striker.

Thanks for pointing that out mate. Trouble is, we dont see any Brownings in the UK, and i can only look at pictures and try to work out whats what.

Fair enough lol, I've only seen the Browning pistols online too when I was looking for info on the Webley branded version
