Need help with my QB 36-2!!

Hey guys, this rifle is so, so much fun. I have no problem laying 10 shots just slightly over a dime at 25 yards. I absolutely love this thing, and I think everyone should Have one. Thing is, the twanginess, and the vibration drive me absolutely insane. Any idea how to cut back on that, even a little? Should I send it out for a tune? Who tunes the Chinese rifles?? If I could do it myself that would be great, but I never took an Airguns apart, and I don't have a spring compressor.   Any help would be greatly appreciated.   If any of you are on the fence about grabbing one, I say go for it, you wont be disappointed.

You might try our friend shadow. That gun has a lot of potential, but definitely wants a spring compressor. Crown polish worked well on it, too. The trigger benefits from a hone and lube- it will never be a target trigger but you can work with it. I had the Centerpoint 4-16 Walmart special on it, and that was a good scope for that gun.

It's the only ag I have ever sold. Of course I miss it, now. Lesson learned.

Once I had a personality conflict with a certain cheap shotgun, and traded it for a Sheridan. That's the only time I was ever happy to be rid of any of my guns. There is one other .30-06 around here that needs a new home- otherwise I just keep stacking them up.

Yes a tune will do away with most of the twang, do it yourself , its not that difficult but for certain you will need a spring compressor. The spring in that gun is looooong. Just be safe if you tune it yourself. I believe the more you put into it ,yourself, the more you will appreciate what you have.

You could buy a B3 under lever at toolsnow.com for 24.99 and practice tuning before you tear into your QB36-2. The old GTA forum is loaded with info. For more info google Kermit Airgun Club. Look under projects and documents. I think you can find plans for a spring compressor there too. Just a thought. Good luck.

Here in the UK, we know a thing or 3 about Chinese guns. LOL
You'll need to register on this forum to get access, but there's a stripdown guide for Models XS38 & XS36-2 which are both QB36-2 or TF99 derivatives...& many more.
