Sad news ... My factory FWB 124 aluminum trigger broke.

After waiting 2 months for service of my FWB 124 to be done, just got the call it is now finished and ready to ship home ... YEA !!!

Sad news was that somehow in transport the factory aluminum trigger snapped and broke off ... 
Service tech had an old stock PLASTIC one and used that to get job complete.

ANYONE HAVE a Macarri metal trigger they wish to sell ?

Did you ship the action separated from the stock? If so, what means of transport did you use?,..... FedEx, ups, USPS? Who did the work, and did they return the damaged trigger blade along with the rifle?! I would contact Maccarri and see when he will have another run of the blades made. That way you can reserve a trigger blade in advance. JM is a reasonable fella and will probably work with you on this issue. Once wore in and adjusted,  his trigger blade is tops!!! Best of Luck.

The downside of shipping the action and stock separated.  You have to rig up some kind of brace to protect the trigger.  Seen this happen more than once.  I was going to recommend JM but see you've been there.  Did he say when he might have more?

Bummer you had your original trigger snap like that.    Its not easy to replace parts for the FWB 124, as its no longer produced.  At least you can shoot it since you do have the plastic trigger replacement for the time being.  Like others have said, try to find a Maccari metal trigger replacement if you can.  I saw too recently they are out of stock.  If you at least let him know you are interested, it might help speed up the process a tad for him to make another batch.  Meanwhile, enjoy shooting that 124, even with the plastic trigger.  I have 124's, one each with plastic and metal, and the plastic one is far smoother.  I guess I got lucky or its just really broken in.

As the original owner dating back mid 80's have a long and storied history with my 124 
Had packed action within center core of 4" pool noodles making sure foam was all around ..... "dang" gorilla package handlers strike again !! 

Action and trigger was so sweet second stage could be hung if needed or fingered back if shot was not happening.

It definitely hurts to have your old girl mistreated like that.  Now, no matter what you do, you'll never have it 100% original again.  Once you do get a new metal trigger replacement, you are going to have to begin the process all over of breaking that in to get it just as smooth as the old one.  At least it won't be that much of a chore with how sweet those 124s shoot!

Be patient and I'm sure you'll find somebody with a spare metal trigger blade.  You might check out some of those other airgun classified sites to widen your search a bit.  Good luck!

Front sight METAL .... Rear sight PLASTIC .... Trigger also a PLASTIC one

As far as I know, the rear sight was always plastic. The first generation Sporters all had plastic triggers as well. That metal front sight,......again that must be from an early run as well. Ive never seen a sporter front sight like that before. The trigger blade is still worth making an offer for though.

Sadly have my factory 124 factory sights both front and rear. Still in a bag taken off rifle 25+ year ago and are like new, so ZERO need for those.
As for another plastic trigger, no thanks. due to current circumstances already got one of those too 

I will keeping looking or just bite the $80 bullet and buy one of Jims Stainless ones in a couple months where they become available.

  Update ....
Over the weekend replaced trigger with my original aluminum one having been fixed with some JB weld and short piece of heavy wire reinforcement within the hollow back spine area.
Few minuets fiddling with trigger adjustment and all the stars are aligned again !! ..... Got a second stage and crisp break !!

Great news!  Looks like a bit of ingenuity in fixing that break made it as good as new.  Glad to hear you dared to take the trigger apart and do the swap.  Sounds like its right back to where it was.  Time for you to nail 3 out of 3 acorns out past 50 yards now!
