Beeman RS1 dual caliber rifle (beeman-ss1000) ..???? what are your thoughts?

I recently came across a real good deal on the beeman RS1 air rifle, and I am thinking about buying it but would like some expert opinion if possible. Does anyone own one of these rifles, or have seen or used one? if so let me know what you think. the guy wants to sell it to me for very cheap and has only shot a few pellets through it. he is a local friend that i trust, but has fallen on hard financial times, so wants to get rid of it. he just bought it a week ago. below is a link to it. he says he would sell it to me for 60 bucks.

A friend had one, thought he could get two rifles in one. The problem was, every time he changed the barrel, he would have adjust the scope. The barrels didn't fit in exactly the same way. It became a hassle and he sold it. If you want to stick with one barrel, you might be ok. I know nothing else about the rifle.

I gave mine away (RS2) only because I knew it would end up a closet queen. My friend loves it and has used it to remove many pests from his property. mine was doing 900+ FPS at high altitude with .177 pells. I tuned it and adjusted the trigger and it shoots smoother than many expensive AGs.

I have an RS2 switch barrel and I have the .177 barrel on it and its staying
shoots 954 fps average on a tuned stock seal and spring......
my dad has a rs2 with the .22 and he loves it too
only difference between the rs1 and rs2 is the trigger group I think.....
if he just bought it a week ago are you sure its not the RS2??

My brother in law has the Big 5 sporting good model. I don't remember if it's the RS1 or 2. Beautiful airgun. Hits like a truck and is accurate. He uses .177 almost always. His only complaint is the set screw that holds the barrel in place comes loose after x ammount of shots. But he loves that airgun. He is very happy with it.
I was gonna order the RS1 from Pyramyd when they called me to tell me they were out of the X2. The lady said,"Dont get the RS1. We have had complaints that the barrels come loose fairly often."
[I was glad she told me because I got the Crosman Quest 800 instead. Awesome airgun for trhe $]

For $60 I'd do it just to try it out. I'd probably stick to one barrel and use some loctite on the barrel/screw and see how it goes. That's pretty cheap for any AG and you'd be helping out a friend in need as well.

I had the RS1 that comes with the carrying case. It's actually RS2 as shown on the action and the silver trigger and rounded trigger guard are the adjustable triggers. The actual RS1 is the non-adjustable trigger and you can expect trigger pressure is as hard as it cocks for it's direct sear latch. I have the .22 barrel on it for I find it shoots smoother in that caliber, .177 shoots too fast. I just use loctite to keep the setscrew to hold the barrel with no problem.
