Shooting Chrony Printer Problem
«

I purchased a Shooting Chrony printer a couple of weeks ago. It printed as expected a couple of times, & then started printing erratically. It seems to have problems with carriage returns & line feeds.
I checked & rechecked everything I could think of. I was about ready to throw it through a window. I read the manual again, & noticed that it could operate on batteries (4 AA = 6 volts). I didn't pay attention to this feature during past reads since I intended to always use the 6-Volt AC Adapter. I gave the batteries a try to see of the AC Adapter was faulty. Well, it works perfectly with batteries. I checked the output voltage of the AC Adapter with my volt meter & it's putting out 7.5 volts. Even though higher than 6 volts, I think the AC Adapter is working okay. So, the fault must be internal to the printer.
I'm debating whether or not to have it repaired under warranty, or just operate it with batteries. Since it's working so well on batteries I don't want to part with it for who knows how long.
Has anyone experienced a similar problem, i.e., printer works with batteries, but not with AC Adapter?

My adapter failed as well. I too didn't want to be without the unit so I just use batteries now until I find another adapter.

Thanks for the reply. I tested the adapter & it checked okay. I think it's likely internal to the printer, but it could be the adapter. I contacted Shooting Chrony, & they weren't aware of this particular problem. They thought it might be a problem with the printer circuit board, & it's repairable under warranty.

I ordered a new printer prior to returning the first one. The new printer works okay.
I tried the new adapter on the first printer, & it has the same problem. So, it's not the adapter, & must be an internal problem with the printer.

Id send it in for repair the main reason why is that if the company was not aware of this problem it gives them a chance to see the actual unit and what to check for in the other printers to fix them so there is no more problems
