WALTHER VS HATSAN

Has anyone put any of the two guns side by side in a tear down and seen any difference between the two? Just wondering if the WALTHER cut any corners.

I always Thought Walther was just a rebranded name of the Hatsans

My Walther Talon sure looks exactly the same as the Hatsan 125

Only difference I can see is the brand of scope. And no wood stocks on the Walther's.

Hatsan manufactures the walther line of springers, as they did the winchesters in the beginning.

I would think the walther would be made to a better spec as the winchester was over the hatsan counter part.

For example: on the hatsan line, the live jam engaged against a chiseled piece of steel sticking out from the receiver, But the winchesters live jam engaged against a bar that went across the forks of the receiver.  This proved to be a better lock up on the winchester.

I have a Walther Falcon Hunter...and just got a Hatsan Mod 95. I see the safety mechanism is different. I intend to tear the 95 down and tune....and check it out to satisfy my curiosity. Will let everyone know what I find and my impressions.

There is one large screw head on one side, and a small phillips type screw on the other, quite diffrerent than the typical break barrel where the screws jusr engage the tube or a couple of ears with threads.

My WFH is similar. Remove the small phillips first. The larger one is actually a "female" bolt that the smaller screw threads into. I haven't gotten to mine yet, but the WFH looks very similar. I beleive that the larger bolt threads into a "nut" imbedded in the stock forearm.

Observations:
Three pins hold the end plug and quattro trigger in place on the Mod 95, while the WFH has only one pin holding the end plug.
The upper sear of the Quattro is held in place by a pin similar to the WFH (second variant trigger), which penetrates a bracket on the receiver tube.
The safety on the Mod 95 is all metal and much studier than the stamped metal and plastic safety lever on the WFH.

I have been reading a lot about the Hatsan's and the Walther's, also made by Hatsan.

Please correct me if I have this wrong. The Walther Falcon Hunter and the Talon Magnum are both actually the Hatsan 125, but with Walther labeling. If that is true, then the Hatsan Model 95 would not be a direct comparison to the Walther's, as implied earlier in this thread.

Shouldn't the Hatsan Model 125 be the basis for comparison ?

Also, is the Hatsan 135 just a Model 125 with a wooden stock or is it differently mechanically and performance-wise ?

A few things to keep in mined when compairing the diffrent guns..
walthers mod125 are the same guns..
but the wincheasters are diffrent model hatsan rebranded..
mod 125 / 135 "Walther rebrands" are a totaly diffrent action than
than the mods 55/60/70/75/80/85 "Wincheaster & daisy rebrands"
then theres the new models 95/99 & 55 to 85 SAS Quattro models are diffrent again..
make sure you are compaireing the same base model/action
Hatsan do NOT build a diffrent gun for the rebrands..just rename
there base guns...
Also the age of the gun comes into it... hatsan have made small changes
over the years that also carry though into the rebranded guns...
compaire apples with apples....

After looking things over, I wonder why the 135 uses a larger diameter tube than the 125 does yet the power level stays the same ?

I would think that the larger the volume, the higher the velocity or the ability to handle heavier pellets better, or am I mistaken ?

I looked at the Hatsan website and apparently the 135 is the only rifle that uses the 35mm tube, since the other models aren't break-barrels and the 125 uses the 33mm tube, as far as I can tell.

That's interesting. I wonder if swapping of any parts is possible to "hot rod" the 135 by increasing its stroke to that of the 125?

Just thinking ...
