SCBA Tank Expiring Soon - What are the Options?

I have a 45 min SCBA tank the is aging out this summer.  Looking for insights into my options, which seem to be:

1) Buy a "new" used tank.
2) Buy a compressor and keep using the expired tank.
3) Recertified Life Extension - There was a recertification process, but their website does not respond.
4) Hand pump - NOT really an option but had to add it. 

So far, a tank works best for me. I have to shoot at ranges where filling from a compressor would be a PITA.  Most of my shooting is paper targets and HFT.  I usually fill the guns 3 to 5 times at the ranges.

Get a compressor and fill it yourself.  Pull the valve every couple years and check for signs of water or corrosion, I just happened to check 2 out of my 3 yesterday. No moisture or corrosion. Mirror glass shiny inside.

Most realistic is to buy a compressor, and refill it yourself. If you do that, make sure that you have proper moisture filters on the system to keep water out of your tank.
As far as I'm concerned, the life extension isn't worth it. It's expensive, and has to be redone every 5 years.

 GX4 is a great option, slow running, fast filling and quiet, they have a new add on filter to give full moisture removal.

Sorry to go off rails just a bit here but I have a question for James...

James, I just picked up that same tank valve and the thread (M18-1.5) don't fit any of my scba MSA tanks. What tank is that? I'll be looking for a good deal on one soon.

 That one is my old Air Venturi 90 CI bottle was a close out special way back. My other tank is a 2l Ace Care I got from Wes @ Airgun Archery Fun, I liked that valve on that so much I replaced the AV bottles valve with one just the same.

Thanks... yeah, I like the valve and want to use it so I'll keep my eye open for a good deal. I don't use tanks as much as others but I have been tethering more and more recently. Swapping one fill station among 3 tanks is a pain.

Will a CS3 work to top off a 45 min 4.5K PSI tank?  The $200 jump in price between the CS4 and CS3 is giving me pause.

 Here is GX's take on it, I think it could be used as you want with some caution.
est Inflating Speed : This pcp compressor was designed mainly for inflating less than 1L tank. Fill a 190cc tank from 1800psi to 3300psi is a swift 2:30 minutes; Filled a 480cc carbon bottle from 1800psi to 3500psi is in a mere 7:30 minutes. The duty cycle of the machine is 30 minutes run / 20 minutes cool. This allows for filling of larger tanks ( suggest max 1.5L) as long as the compressor is allowed to cool.

This cordless compressor would be the bottle delete option, if running this at the range is allowable.

I just bought a 4500 PSI 45 min SCBA born on 9/19 with a recent hydro for $160 on ebay.  For me, it was a cheaper solution than buying a pump.

Buy a compressor and keep on truckin'! I've got a Yong Heng that works great. I'm sure there are others that are fine too

I would remove the valve and buy a new tank from eBay.
Yes you can continue to use it but…
If a 4500psi tank explodes in your garage, the blast will level your house.
You may not want to take the tank to a public range too.
A knowledgeable RSO will send you packing.
