Good morning Airgunners! Thank you for being part of the GTA
Well, I got some great news from Nate at Nate Chrony. The shipment of electronic targets, chronys, and chronys with the training module all showed up yesterday at our shipping facility. We'll be picking them up today. Now, the fun begins. We get to test it and see which steel target is going to give us the best results.
The idea here is to mount the sensor on the back of a suspended steel gong. Once you are through the calibration phase, you can shoot the gong, aiming for dead center, and the system will send back a score based on the level of deflection measured by the sensor. There are limits as to how much deflection you can have. We are going to test that for sure, as we will be shooting a .25 for the Expo. If there's too much deflection, then we can go with a heavier, thicker gong and see what ultimately works.
These target sensors can work on any object. They can be fitted to steel gongs for high-powered airguns or smaller, lighter targets for airsoft, bb/pellet pistols, etc. They are truly universal. I'll be working with them through the rest of the week and will post about my progress. I'll also post photos of how they work. If anyone is interested in learning more about Nate's products, please visit his website

Next topic.. the Pinty Bullpup. Some folks have been asking about me getting back to the Pinty Bullpup. Funny story. I had misplaced the magazines. I reached out to Pinty several times and did not get a reply. That's disappointing frankly, and has me a bit nervous about their long-term support of their product. Fortunately for me, I found the mags and will get back to doing some testing. So, be on the lookout for that video, probably sometime just before
Airgun Expo 2025.
.
Lastly, we have a ton of wind for the next week. Like national weather service warning winds. I'm thinking about shooting a video anyway. What caliber do you think will work best at 50 yards in high winds: .22, .25, .30, or .35? Let me know, and I'll go shoot one!
That's all for today. Thank you all for your support and for being part of the GTA.
Cheers
Rick

See if .30 or .35 do better in the wind, if time allows toss in a .25

hey there..
Bigger caliber options are what I was thinking too. But, I shot the .22 R12 yesterday in the wind (long story as to why I was shooting and filming in the wind yesterday) and it was surprising how well it did. I mean, really well out to 50 yards.
Anyway, I will have plenty of chances to shoot in the wind. I'll get some sort of test sorted out and then see what we can do!
Cheers
