HW77 age

I have a HW77 underlever rifle 17 caliber and was wondering how old it is. It is marked Beeman Precision and the serial number is 1009239.
I bought it new, so I should know, but I sure don't remember that. Is there any way to find out? It shoots real good, the starlings in my yard hate it !

Hi Jim.
I did a search and came up with this old post.
I am not an expert on these rifles.
I think an HW77 might be a Beaman R9 but I am not sure of that.
There are others here that are experts and if they chime, in they will know for sure.

Back_Roads ( James)  lives north of you.
He is in Collins Wisconsin just west of Manitowoc.
He has started an air gun repair business.

That's a very rare gun from the early eighties, i have one in the same serial number range. I think mine was  from 1983, it's a 25mm piston 77 Mk1. In very good condition they can go 700-900 dollars.

Weihrauch made that gun. They have a serial number look up page. Just Google weihrauch serial number

See, I told you there were people here at GTA that are the real experts.

I ran the serial number check on this data base and this is what came up.

"Your Weihrauch product was probably manufactured in 1984."

Hi Tom - yup this does seem to be a real good place to learn more about these guns.
That's interesting about Back-Roads James in Collins. I drive through there once in awhile, "back roads" is pretty descriptive of that area. Maybe I could look him up sometime.
I had a Beeman R1 in 20 caliber back then also, but I stupidly sold or traded it away.

From what I have read, a vintage R1 in 20 caliber is highly prized these days.

Just give me a heads up when passing by. Tommy Boy drove past once even, he was limited on time, so he just took a pic of the sign on the edge of town.

Will do, I go to the Pine Crest Historical village once in a while. There is a Civil War program coming up again,  I think in September.
I take the "back roads" up there cause I just like driving through your area.
