"New" Benjamin Discovery .177 still in box

I just received my "new" still in box, Benjamin Discovery. It is the kit with pump, in .177. Serial number 508120302. I believe this was manufactured in May of 2008. It is a nice Walnut stock. The finish is a little rough, But I know how to fix that. It comes with a little pellet pouch and pellets which look like Crosman hollow points. It also came with what appears to be a trigger lock and key. I like the sights, but I need my reading glasses to focus. I might try a rear peep sight.

It was listed in the air gun section of  GunsInternational.com. A fellow in Pennsylvania bought it and never used it.

The rifle shoots well with Crosman 7.9 grain hollow points. I may scope it or try a rear peep sight to see exactly how accurate. The pellet pouch looks very useful.

Alliance Hobby has both of them, you just have to confirm.

He’s not the fastest shipper though. My stock took 14 days but no complaints here ‘cuz it was handpicked and packed professionally 👍

I much prefer the more vertical grip of the newer Crosman 362 and 3622 stocks.

  Very nice gun to find in .177 like new.  I wanted a walnut stock for my .177 Disco build, but later ones were only hardwood stocks.  I had to find a suitable stock blank to inlet as the original Walnut ones were no longer available.  I had a cut & crowned .177 20" barrel from a 1760 model that I used a riser I made from PVC under the breech to mount. That way the TKO fits on top of the tube not out front. A .177 Crow Magnum pellet is deadly on Squirrel size critters as it has a Magnum Airpower custom valve for higher power and fill psi. You can see the higher strength stainless valve screws rated for 3000psi, but I only fill to 2500.

Nice! I have a .22 Discovery that I have been tinkering with. I was looking for a Discovery rifle and found two online, I couldn't make up my mind, so I bought them both.

Get an O ring kit for it and keep on stand by.  Fairly common to have early failures of the 2 on either side of the gauge block.  They get nicked during install at the factory on the sharp slots in the tube.
