Receiver bridging
Member pblawaer developed the receiver bridging as a means to prevent separating the halves when a scope is mounted.
The 880 platform rifles have BOTH sides of the dovetail on the right half, and mounting a scope can cause separation........
Trey's method is great for the 880's and earlier 822 that have the small dia (5/16") straw barrels.
But............the later 22X and 22SG have much larger OD barrels, and the front bridge would interfere with the barrel.
Trey used a long 3mm screw to bridge that gap and clear the barrel, but that requires a "riv nut" to be used on one side.
That nut is different from the other 3mm screws used.
Soooooooooooooooo,
I did things a bit differently, making the bridges using 1/4" aluminun square bar stock and sawing, filing, drilling and tapping to fit.
Not the best work I have ever done, but they will do the job...

You can lead a man to water, but you can't keep him from urinating in it.
