New tool for the tool box

I did not order a custom rifle that would chamber one bullet that came with a mold for that bullet . And there is quite a difference in the weight and length that bullets come in . Yesterday while shooting the .308 Corsair I noticed that even the 117 grain bullets were quite a push to the end of the lead . All though they made the jump and were accurate . But my 45 and 81 grain bullets were not accurate at all at 50 yards . So I made a crude bullet seat-er out of a tooth brush to push the short light bullets to the end of the lead to see if that will solve the accuracy problem . I used plastic because of the transfer port and the end of the lead that are in the loading port . Marvin

Did seating the shorties help the accuracy? I shoot a lot of those. Tom

Seating the 117 grain bullets did not help . But as you can see they do not have the jump that the 45 grain bullet does . And the nose profile will sometimes make a difference as to how a bullet takes the jump . Have not tried the 45 or 81 grain bullets yet .Marvin
