Has BRS outdoors killed the beloved CPHP's ?

This looks like nothing but trouble to me.



If they don't change the 10.5gr CPHP's, the .22 14.3's , or the .22 14.3 premier domes I may be okay but I'm betting they destroy the entire lineup.


I am just worried that my guns will not shoot these rebranded Gamo pellets as well as all but a couple of my guns shoot the genuine CPHP's

I was bummed too.  Then I thought about how many tins of CPHP I have squirreled away.  The CPHP is not a stellar pellet in any of my guns but it works adequately for plinking in several f them. A quick check of the pellet storage shows that I have over 10,000 on hand.

At my age I probably won’t live long enough to shoot them all.

I'm not surprised. Anyone remember the slippery change of Daisy/Winchester pellets from ~9.6grain (made in China) to ~7.6 grain (made in Spain)? For awhile they were sold in blister packs with the same UPC code. I still have a couple tins of the "heavies". A little sad to see the 9.6 go away but there is nothing I can do about it. The 7.6 version isn't trash, it's just a different pellet.

The GOOD thing about CPHP 7.9 is/was that they were available in MANY places and until recently my cost was <1.2 cents per pellet. IME they can shoot well in many airguns but the size and weight tolerances vary a lot which is consistent with being a CHEAP pellet.

I also have a large stash (at least 10K currently) collected over a few years whenever a sale price dropped below $5.99/500. I shoot them often and "may" be able to use them up before someone has to pry an airgun from my cold dead hands :-P

Same situation for the CPHP 14.3 grains.

I'm not worried about the change. If the new versions don't shoot well for me I'll continue to shoot the older versions I have and/or move on to other brands.

The only constants in life are death, taxes, and CHANGE.

I always have had some on hand, but none of my barrels really like them. I don’t get to shoot as much as most here, so for me the extra cost of the barrel chosen pellets is not an issue.

Maybe my air force shoots them the best, but that isn’t what I bought that for.

I never understood why Crosman  just didn't give the good dies to who ever was making pellets for them?

 Making the change, will they still be a "harder" pellet made with antimony in the mix???

As far as I know they were making the pellets in house.
They were also doing the same with their copperhead bb's that were trash.
