This guy has been up since dawn just taunting me!  My wife was still asleep, so I let him be.  *(&^, a couple hours and a cup of coffee later he was still chillin at the feed station without a care in the world!  My wife was up and about, and I just couldn't take it anymore!  I had to send him packing!  Seems the Cotton Rats have returned!



Still having problems with he video software.  It processes the .MP4 files from the critter cam just fine, but the video will not play when I try to process the .MP4 video from the Zulus!  I did find a work around, but it involves extra steps I shouldn't have to take.  For now, I am trimming and combining video clips in QuickTime and exporting them as .MOV files.  The video software seems fine with this format and I am able to edit for transitions and playback speed.

Sorry for the jerky video through the scope, the effects of the caffeine hadn't worn off yet!  Watching the playback, I'm actually surprised I hit him, POA was all over the place!

The older I get the worse I get!  I remember the days I could hold a rifle as steady freehand as I could resting on a tripod!  These days, the tripod doesn't even help!  I may have to go the lead sled route and bolt it to a concrete shooting table!

Just attach removable weights 👍

A bud of mine gave me some cylindrical tungsten bits that I taped along the barrel channel (there’s a hollow section along it) for simulation and it steadied my rifle big time.

I might glue it sparingly or with something that is not too strong.

Thanks Rick, I might give that a try.  That rat was shot with the FX Dynamic Compact, so it has an M-Lok cage around the barrel, plenty of places to put weights!
