I had to reseal my last variant Crosman 102 rifle that I just got in. I have resealed quite a few so I had the parts on hand. After I got it back together I realized something I have not seen before. Didn’t take a picture of it but the exhaust valve unit see example below was brass. All the late model Crosman exhaust valves I have ever seen were aluminum. Is this as usual as I think it is or is it common?

Steve,
I have a Model 104 with logo, and it has brass valve parts. Also, one of my wrinkle paint Model 101's has a brass valve, but the rest are aluminum. It appears that brass was still being used as late as 1949.

I wonder if brass was not obtainable during the war years? It seems to me that brass would be preferred for parts that have threads?
