rattus #8 and EARLY Yay

The station's peanut butter was totally gone last night so on a whim I prepared for whatever was stopping by this evening. I got a push notification right about 8:50pm amd sure enough it was a rat so I quickly cocked the pre-loaded Notos, turned on the red LED flashlight mounted on the Notos's scope, placed it on the y-yoke and saw it was still there facing me so placed the crosshairs between it's peepers and let the JSB sleeping pill fly...thuck...it launched off the platform and landed on the grass (I thought I had missed) and I went out to inspect it, it was still breathing even though the shot had entered thru it's right eye! I quickly loaded another pellet and shot it point blank thru it's forehead (a total lobotomy) and it was breathing but only for a few more seconds....a big tough female about 16". The pellet again ricocheted and almost severed it's tail. Man...some of these critters are TOUGH!

Nice shot Randall!  Good to see your rat traffic is picking up again!  It is amazing how tough some of these critter are, and how whimsy others are.  The Cotton rats I have here seem to roll over and die even if I just graze them!  Maybe they have weak hearts and I just scare them to death!

Paul! Thank you so much! Yeah, this one was just so tough, I felt sorry for it! I would have thought those fatty cotton rats would be ultra tough, guess not...😂👍.

 Randall , You & Paul are having all the rat action, I'm out a couple nights & I have to fight to stay awake ! Nothing but a couple mice (missed ). I'll give the G-hogs my best effort though .

Marty! Thank you very much! Yes Paul and I are getting the rat activity but, I would rather anchor a ghog any day of the week over a rat! 🤗
