Crosman 113 locating stud. Should it be a right angle to the tube?

I have a 113 that doesn't group well, to put it mildly.
I don't see anything wrong with this gun; there are not too many moving parts. 
I did notice the tube doesn't sit flush with the stock by about 1/8 of an inch (3mm), and it's because the lactating stud is bent a little.
Before I potentially exacerbate the issue, I'm seeking your guidance on whether the bent locating stud is by design or if it's safe to bend it back to 90.
Also, I don't know if this is even a problem and I should leave it alone and check for other things that may be at fault.

Lay a long straight edge at the bottom of the tube to make sure the tube itself isn't bent at the stud like the one in the pic below. If it is, that could cause a wobble "to and fro".


Also, the trigger springs are kind of stiff on the 113/114 models and sometimes push up on the tubes preventing the the action from seating properly in the stock. To prevent this, try pressing the tube down into the stock inletting as you tighten the nut.

I wasn’t aware the 113 had a ‘ lactating stud’, but by memory, the stud and valve chamber is soldered in place.  If it is messed up, you are most likely to have a leak.  Not sure how that would affect accuracy, unless the solder is messed up to allow the valving to‘wobble’ like xcaliber mentioned.  Bad groups have lots of causes, crown, pellets , etc, don’t overlook other possible culprits.

Thanks for the help.  Turns out my gun doesn't like JSB pellets.
I never would have guessed that switching pellet brands would make such a dramatic difference.

Right  shot with JSB Exacts.

I did the straight edge check and do see about a 1/32 downward bend in the barrel and tube both starting from around the end of the stock to the fill cap.
Is this a big problem or can it be corrected ?

I sold off all my 113/114’s so I can’t check against another rifle.  Admittedly that doesn’t sound very good, the ‘droop’ in the barrel/tube.  But, if it doesn’t leak, and it hits what you aim for with a good pellet, I might leave it alone.
