Benjamin 710 Rear Breech Cap removal

Hey guys, I recently got carried away on an auction and spent wayyy to much money on a Benjamin 710. When it arrived at my house, I tested it, it seems to kind of hold air, but it doesn't take in a lot. I've ordered a seal kit to restore the gun, and I figured in the meantime I could take apart what I could without the valve tool. I was able to remove the pump assembly, but got stuck on the breech cap. Unlike the benjamin 310/312/317, the breech cap can't be removed by taking off some screws and pulling it off. I've tried to pry it off, but it didn't budge. I'm not really too sure what to do now, so I figured I'd ask you guys. I can't post images, so if you search up "Benjamin 710 Schematic" on google you can see a layout of the rifle and the part I'm talking about is labeled "301" on it. Thanks.

In general, prying on your airguns is not a good idea. Having never worked on the 710, I can't help on dis-assembly. Maybe someone else will pipe in. But, you might try the alcohol/oil flush first to see if it helps with compression. A new pump cup and cleaning alone may also help a weak pumper, without getting into the valving at all. Just my $0.02.

So, I watched a video of someone putting back together one of these guns by Cheyenne Airguns. Based on how he puts the breech cap on just by pushing it in there, I'd have to suppose the way to get it off is by pulling it off. Since it's stuck on there, I've whacked a hammer at the handle of a flathead screwdriver on the open end of the breech cap to try and hit it off. It's definitely not the prettiest way, causing scratches and dents on the gun, but I can't figure out another way to do it with the tools at hand.

Well, I finally got the cap off! Now I just need to remove the plate that hides the bolt and stuff, which seems to be removed in a similar fashion. I'm wondering If I could heat the piece to make it easier to get off.
