Hi Liam, I'm just worried about stripping the threads & having the gauge fly across the room or thru a glass window. I will have a lot of explaining to do to the Missus

 back it out slowly, like an 1/8th turn at a time until air slowly starts to hiss out. Stop there and let it release air slowly. Loosen it a tad more if air stops releasing. Go slow and you should be ok. if that worry's you too much trying the hand pump trick like Ken suggested might work.

By the way the pictures and measurements of the Degasser you posted, are they for the Benjamin Marauder 0.22 Rifle or Marauder 0.22 Pistol?
