Bedtime Rat

The doa had me up early yesterday morning and when the ding-donger started flashing this guy was at the bait station.  It was early, my wife was asleep and I didn't really want to get up, so I just watched him for a while.

Well, fast forward to about 9:00 PM last night, just as we were getting ready to head to bed.  The din-danger started flashing and a quick check of the critter cam showed he had returned!

In my haste to get set-up and take a shot at him, I totally spaced on clicking record on the critter cam!  Thankfully, I did have the where-with-all to press record on the scope!  So, this clip is really short!



My video software had also forced an upgrade due to the latest update of iOS, and now it's giving me fits, it will play audio from the clip, but no video!  The clip plays fine in QuickTime, but now in the Video Software!  So, the raw unprocessed video got uploaded to YT.  No slo-mo and no overhead view!  Sorry it's not up to my usual standards!

But, he was a little over a foot long, even though most of it was tail!

PAUL! Excellent shot on that rattus rattus and great video! That shot ANCHORED it right there! Most first released software upgrades have some "bugs"....it'll get rectified soon. Haven't seen anyone else getting rat traffic so living vicariously thru YOU! HA! That species have super long tails! Have a great weekend!

Thank you Randall!  I guess it’s my time to fill the Rat Shooting gap!  Not sure how long it will last, this may have been a one and done! 

I have been using that same software for years and never had a problem. The last update was 2022, so I guess it’s about time, I just don’t like the strong arm tactics of it all of a sudden is no longer compatible and requires a $40 update. Then to add insult to injury, the update that was forced down my thought doesn’t work with the exact same videos I have been using right along with no issues!  Hopefully, it will be resolved quickly, but I doubt it will happen this weekend!
