Is anyone waxing their bullets?

Thinking, waxing the bore is good. Shooting bullets through removes wax. .22lr bullets are waxed, best manufacturers use bees wax (Eley). Has anyone tried waxing their bullets? I was thinking - applying bees wax or the wax you use in your barrel to the bullets should keep the wax level in the barrel constant and you could just pull through a piece of rag every 100 or so shots to keep the bore clean and lead free. Thoughts?

I tried the bicycle chain lube.  I questioned the application consistency then moved on to wet lube.  I like to lube the bores with hard clear Trewax floor wax and use silicone oil for the ammo lube.  This combo has served me well after many trials with different lubes.

I also tried chain wax, it seems to work OK and the bore was real easy to clean but it makes bullets stick to my fingers which I don't like. Wax + silicone combo would be easy, perhaps I'll try that next time.

That's always an option, I'm playing with .172 bullets now and adding 0.001" PC coating to such small bullet sounds a bit much. Have you tried PC in small diameter bullets?

I've powder coated lots of .177 pellets but I don't cast anything smaller than .218. I'll try to remember to coat some commercial .177 slugs next time.

I use KryTech Finish Line WAX Lubricant on .22 Baracuda 5.52 Pellets. On a WRABF & ERABSF World & European Target  @ 25 Met., 25 Bulls. Lubed Pellets are +10 per Card, enough to Win in the Stock Factory Class w/M-Rod @ 845 fps 33.5 flb for 30 Shots w/no drop, and 5 siter's. Start @ 2850 psi.....       

As far with Bullets in Air-Guns I don't know, never used Them.....Franky

I have used Krytech on pellets for over 20 years with great success.  MAC1 brought it to the airgun community in the late 90s.



For bullit casting, an AGN member recommended beeswax.  I started using it on all my big bore casting.  It doesn't have buildup, and is a good idea before and after the sizing process:
