Slugs deliver more energy on target vs pellets, as the range of the shot increases slugs become the winner.
Not much but if the game is on the larger size then yes, the slug makes things die faster IMO.
Notice how the sparrows pop when them FX guys hit them with slugs, I do not get that pop with pellets.

They actually may not pernitrate as far as their power drops due to drag, faster than a slug.
Slugs have more BC and penetrate much better if the quarry is lets say pigs who have thick skulls, hides and bones depending on shot placement. At shorter distances without much wind, I hunt/pest with pellets but if it gets windy I will have a second magazine loaded with slugs and also for longer shots usually over 100yds in .22.
