Question about Slugs Vs Expanding pellets

Im not doing hunting (not allowed in Sweden unless the rifle is doing more then 150 J) or anything but i like looking at hunting videos from the US or UK and i started out of curiosity to think of Slugs Vs Expanding pellets.
I understand that a slug has more mass and will push throu more and a expanding pellets make a bigger wound chanel but which one is best for hunting in general and why?
I wish that we could hunt small game here in Sweden to with lower power rifles like you can  :'(

I see so if its at short distance it does not really matter if you use slugs or pellets?

 Not much but if the game is on the larger size then yes, the slug makes things die faster IMO.

They actually may not pernitrate as far as their power drops due to drag, faster than a slug.

Slugs have more BC and penetrate much better if the quarry is lets say pigs who have thick skulls, hides and bones depending on shot placement. At shorter distances without much wind, I hunt/pest with pellets but if it gets windy I will have a second magazine loaded with slugs and also for longer shots usually over 100yds in .22.

At short to medium ranges, pellets will generally deliver more energy from the same setup. Out of the muzzle with a slug and pellet of the same exact weight, a pellet will be going faster.  Once you get to medium to long ranges, the high bc of the slug wins out.

Many here may tell you that pellets are more accurate due to the skirts until longer ranges. That may no longer be the case though with the availability of high quality slugs now.

Pellets for me at shorter distances are pin point accurate and slugs slightly less but at longer distances especially in windy conditions, slugs rule for sure.

 There are instances where I will use a wadcutter pellet, such as shooting rats inside a building, and use a low power gun. This one is 12 FPE ish.
