Those symptoms mean something is preventing the poppet from sealing. A bit of debris is a potential culprit, CO2 being an open system, so the valve might just need to be opened and inspected and cleaned. Or the poppet head may have failed (cracked / crumbled). Much further down the list is something is causing the stem from moving freely and the valve couldn't return closed.Whatever it is, step 1 is remove the valve and inspect it.

Might make it sound more powerful by belching more CO2 but it really needs to be married to a longer barrel to show a benefit.
New OEM valve in my lego 2240 ….good as new….havent taken old valve apart but no apparent damage….I did not know the valve has minimal movement when bolted down….now I know what magnum airs bigger screws were referring to..lol

Makes for a very solid set-up.The breech covers it, so it’s not unsightly.
