M Rod barrel question

I would like to put a M Rod barrel on my
P Rod but when I look at the parts diagrams  on Crosman’s website I come up with two different numbers for the stock barrel.
2263-001
2264-001
Does anyone know what the difference is between the two ?  I emailed Crosman over a week ago with this question but they never replied back.  I was guessing that maybe the older version wasn’t chocked and the newer version was but I don’t know.
I remember reading a few posts on here about putting a M Rod barrel on a P Rod but I can’t seem to find them now.
Any information would be appreciated. TIA

Mrod barrel diameter is larger, most mrods have .500
 Prods are 7/16,. You can machine the barrel down.. i have. David

I suggest you get a LW MROD barrel.

I own 2.

The tube is for a Fortitude which can be converted to fit the PROD by boring 2 additional valve screw holes a few millimeters from the existing fore ones.

P-rod to M-rod ... leade, transfer hole position and set screw flats differ as each uses a different receiver.

I did not modify mine except for the set screw flats which I had to expand/file a bit by 2mm or so.

The TP lines up perfectly and the leade is on point as well—no blast of air whatsoever.

25 cal GM Marauder
22 cal LW Marauder
22 cal Prod

The difference in the transfer port location is ~ .020".
The .020" can be shaved from the Mrod barrel and the TP will line up.

Why not put a 1720T barrel on the PRod?

I use a slightly modified Gauntlet (same as the MROD’s) single-shot tray, not a magazine, so I am able to line up the TP with no problem 👍

If wanting a .177 PROD (single-shot tray required), you could use a .177 MROD barrel and   a .177 Fortitude bolt.

A 1701P/1720T barrel needs its own breech and bolt and is not compatible with the PROD breech.

Question for Rick67, are those the Crosman part numbers that you had listed ?  A LW barrel might be a good choice.
According to the information here everything should work out. My idea is to put a M Rod barrel on a P Rod with a gen 1 M Rod trigger group and in a 2260 wood stock for a smaller lighter gun. Now I just have to locate a 2260 wood stock as Crosman discontinued them.

MR-017 for the .177 MROD LW barrel.

I have those very parts that you listed, but they're not for sale.
