Union confusion

I need to join two lines that have an end fitting that is flat and has a straight thread and also to connect the same type male fitting to a QR:



Normally, the "flat" end fitting goes into the YH compressor or similar and has a nylon seal inside the female side. I am just not familiar with this fitting or what it is called?

In your picture the female end on the left looks like a foster quick connect.

I have made a longer hose by joining two shorter ones by adding a 1x3 filter with the nylon washers between the two hoses.

Thanks, good idea, I used the filter that came with the Yong Wang to act as a union, for now.

These two items can connect two hoses if indeed that is what they are

No, it actually measures 9.76mm. Like I said, I am not at all familiar with this thread. They seal with a flat white Teflon/nylon seal.

Definitely not an 8mm then, sounds like a 1/8” bsp as noted already.

If you had the two pieces I linked to earlier, put one on one hose, one on the other and just qc together.

Fwiw, the two pieces I linked do have the white washer

I did the deep dive a couple years back. There are SEVERAL different threads NPT, BSP, Metric,etc...
Tapered threads can be sealed with proper use of thread tape. Straight threads NEED the hard plastic washers to properly seal.  Thread tape "may" work but that is not the intended seal method.

Read about, measure, and identify which threads you have. Then you can order the correct couplers/adapters. I have 3 different threads on various hand pumps, a YongHeng electric pump, and some various HPA hoses and couplers. VERY frustrating because sometimes the thread types are NOT DEFINED when you are buying some hose assemblies/fittings.

The m10 is definitely another possibility. A thread gauge would definitely make quick work of identifying….

If it works with the filter between the hoses I would go with that and have the added advantage of the extra inline filter.

I made one up for filling tanks. It's the black one that MRodair sold. It has a male foster (QD) on both ends. I like it for the added filtering on longer runs for filling tanks and it's less capacity than the large gold ones.

Thanks all. The YH outlet thread and the other fittings of that type I have are M10X1. I was confused when I said 8mm earlier, that is the QD.

I do not find a union anywhere yet.

Yes, I am using the filter to accomplish the same now. The outlet of the compressor goes to a centrifugal filter canister and then to the line end filter as suggested and then to my guns. My eventual plan is to add in a molecular sieve downstream of the centrifugal filter and then to a carbon fiber 30 cf tank. In that way I will need to only fill from the bottle and top the bottle after several gun fills. Should be easier on the YH. I will keep the little line end filter as a last chance on the end of the whip.

That's my exact setup but in gold (cheaper) and a check valve on the compressor side. I have a second filter before that one on the compressor side for better water removal.

When I pull bottles off of guns, I've never seen water in them or in my tubes.

Aliexpress sells a female threaded M10*1 male foster.  It will have a delrin disc seal inside the female threaded side.  Attach it to the M10*1 hose and then you can connect the foster to the female quick connect on your other hose.
