So, here's the American made challenge! - for glass
1) Any pre-1975 American made air rifle .20 to .22 cal.
2) Accurately measured 15-yard distance.
3) No off-hand shooting. (You can lock it in any stable way you want, rested with shooting bags, a lead sled, or a vise).
4) Submit (pictures) of the best (5) round group, out of (5) attempts, on paper, with a tape measure or ruler.
5) List the variables; Year built, make, caliber, pellet, pellet weight, conditions, inside-outside, (rested shooting method) etc.
This is just for fun and should be interesting!

Ok here we go
1973 Sheridan Blue Streak
Primary Arms Red Dot
JSB 13.73 pellets 3 pumps
Off the bench with a rest
3/8” for the 5 shots after sighting.
When I walked out last night I found out the Dan had fallen and the dot was askew. Had to refresh the zero today, which was a good thing cause I just shoot steel and vary the elevation by pumps

Beautiful evening after work! I should revisit my Kessler “Prove it” test but couldn’t resist getting out my 57-59 Sheridan Blue Streak. Straight bolt (which I still have) was replaced when I added the scope shortly after acquiring the rifle.
Temp … 60*
Wind … Calm
Scope . WesternField 3-7 (pwr set at 4)
Pumps - 5
Pellet . JSB 13.42 & H&N 11.42
Of all the pump rifles I’ve shot, I never had another more accurate and less pellet picky. I am following both “Prove It” threads to see what others come up with.

thank you. there’s a spinner out there at 25 yards, my normal shooting distance. good to know its just about an inch high at 15, though target was a bit blurry. might have to try 3x. I’ve just never moved it off 4x

First chance I've had to shoot since returning home from Indiana. Got out my most favoritist shooter, a Crosman 114 with a 4x32 "SPI" branded scope. The power adjust screw is backed out, six turns from max. Around 560 fps, JSB 14.3 gr. 15 yards, 4 groups of five, from a rest on a bench. I've hit several starlings out past 40 yards with this gun.

Wow! Pretty impressive for a 70-ish year-old rifle. All the groups are looking really tight! We may have to a micrometer instead of a tape.

I really wonder if the early post war Crosman rifles are really better made shooters. True of Terry’s 114 and of my 108? Just coming out of the war maybe the rifling tools were new and sharp?
