Yong Heng water pump recommendations?

My original pump died.  It's been going out for a while now.  Is there a better model I can buy that would be more reliable?  I don't much care about flow rate.  The original one did me fine, even placed a few feet below the compressor.

I got one of these and it pumps much more for better cooling.



Edit - maybe you don't want this model - smallest outlet is 1/2 inch - I remember I had to make a hose adapter

This may sound odd... but someone I know uses a Walmart 12v bilge pump. They say it works well.

     Yep, Amazon or a local garden center. They are just low cost water pumps for small garden water features like fountains or little waterfalls.
A bit larger with a higher flow rate Will help keep the temperature down in your air pump, at least as long as your cooling water source has enough volume. I use a 6 gal. bucket and if I'm filling several guns and cylinders I may do a partial water change and/ or add a frozen ice pack or two. I try to always keep my Yong Heng no hotter than 60 degrees centigrade

you guys are smart.  Ive mentioned since the start of young heng, heat is its biggest enemy. The cooler you can keep them , the better.

This may not be pratical for anyone else, but I use a hose and a sink drain to feed water to my unit. I fill all of my tanks (3) at one setting. Yes it wastes a little water, but you do not need a very fast flow to keep things cool. My pump never gets over 30 degrees cent. Heat kills compressors.

Thanks for the comments guys.  I had considered the faucet/spigot method, but I prefer having a 120v outlet pump.  Sometimes I do use a sink or spigot but in conjuction with the pump.  Just makes more sense to me to be able to use the compressor in multiple locations and never need to change the fittings or hardware.

I would just go to amazon and find a pump that uses the size lines the YH has that seems reasonable in price and seems to flow as much or more than the original you are satisfied with.

Leaving the water running can only work well if your water source is really cold.  My water doesn't heat up much when the pump runs, I use a radiator, but the sink water is not that much cooler than water that has been sitting in the bucket.  Ice works better to keep the water cool for me.  But with a radiator I do not have to use ice to keep temperature no more than the low 60s C for a run from 3000 to 4000 or a bit more - a 15 minute run.
