So, I picked up a Vectis that was refurbished (If you don't know, Hatsan's refurb section is just silly good for picking up cheap toys) to hold me over until I figure out what I want for my next quality purchase will be....
I honestly am impressed for the $200... But it did need a few mods.
It's absolutely NOT backyard friendly in the .22, and the center line form the plastic injection molding feels terrible on the hands, as well as the fact there was no attachment for a IR light/laser that would work with a tripod (and the lower picatinny rail is not particularly solid, and is super far from barrel, which means a lot of error in aiming at anything close range.
So, to fix all of this, I read that the barrel is, in fact, threaded, but it's hidden under the plastic, so, I grabbed the hacksaw and chopped that baby down, if I had to do it again, I'd go about an inch less, but this is good. FYI, you do need the 1/2" x 20 male to male adapter from Donny FL, as the nut that is on the threaded barrel is needed to keep the plastic housing around the barrel centered, which matters because most of the rail is attached to it....
Went with the DonnyFL Sumo, which did a great job hushing it down, now it's great for the backyard!
I followed that up with a smoothing job on the plastic everywhere I touch the rifle, using a file and sandpaper, which made a huge improvement in feel... And finally, I added in a short picatinny rail section under the muzzle, to mount my surefire or DBAL PL.
Now? This is a fantastic rifle!
