Airmaks Katran

Hello, apart from a few videos, there are not many katran tests on the internet.

I am interested in the LB .22 (long with bottle) model and I would like to know how much battery life it has.

Initially I wanted to take a Uragan but I find the look of the Katran nice.
I have an FX impact MK2 and I would not like to be disappointed by airmaks which is new on the market.


If anyone has any personal feedback I'd be interested.

Hi Anthony I’ve been interested as well. You are right there is not much information out there. AEAC with Steve did a review but it was for a short one. There’s some other reviews in other languages. The gun seems solid but you have an Impact to compare to which is tough:)

Anthony, I've only heard good things about Airmaks. Depends on what your usage wiil be for it. Only bad thing I've heard is they are air hogs. If you want power, I'd wait for the new RTI offerings, huge power and great shot counts plus new LR models will have unchoked barrels for slugs as well as pellets.

I bought a Katran Long in .22 cal this past March.  It is truely a remarkable rifle...all tuning adjustments are external except the reg which is just fine at factory setting. Accuracy is excellant and so is trigger which is adjustable without taking anything apart and just one screw to remove for adjusting hammer spring.
I have researched this rifle since last year and build quality is first rate...price is right on and you are getting much more rifle for the price.
From 300 Bar to falling off reg you get 102 shots a fill.

I have the LB in .22 but I’ve messed with the regulator and have it pushing 25.39 FX pellets around 875 fps (43 FPE).  You can find a full review on the .22 LB that includes how to take it apart and adjust the regulator here:



As stated by crazyhorse1 the rifle is high quality and very accurate.  Haven’t shot a full string at this power level to know how many shots I get before falling off the regulator.

I don’t have a Katran but I have the Caiman X & as for build quality it’s awesome. I’ve got mine tuned to shoot jsb knock outs at 910 & I get 40 shots like that. When I first got not I just adjusted the hammer spring to try & get 20fpe but it’s was super inconsistent shot to shot. But I did get 210 shots out of before it fell off the reg.

I’ve gotten where with mine I can have the apart, adjust the reg & put it back together in about 10 minutes. When it comes time for fill I’m gonna turn the reg up a tad more to push it a little more.
