Thanks guys, The other opossum showed up after midnight and was able to pull the hardware clothe off of the station to get the chicken. He looks worse than normal due to putting him in a 5gal bucket of water to keep the raccoon or feral cat from making off with him before I could get pics this AM.
Thanks Randall, I'm working on it as I type this. The DD only went off 2X so far and only for a few seconds. I rebaited with an over ripe cantaloupe today. Figured the opossum would like it, and Puss the cat would go on about his business. At least tonight I remembered to turn the lights back on, and they are still burning after 2 days of overcast skies. Tomorrow is 80% chance of rain.I checked the first opossum out to see if the hawks had found him, There were 2 buzzards working him over about 10' from the door when I opened it up. Everybody has to eat.
Hopefully you'll feed those birds with the possum's buddy soon. Continued success!
Good shooting Ken! I like seeing people using the Ding Donger to get night critters - a word I made up and first to use in a post here 13+ years ago, and as the first GTA member to use the "driveway alert system"/motion detector for pesting in 2008
Nice shot Ken!

The answer was "it's a term made up by Harry." Now I know which Harry, "only1Harry" That old bait station thread was a real hoot. I finally finished it last night. Shame it's still not running... I applied for IFART after posting my pic.

I also came up with "Disco" (for Benji Discovery) or I should say shortened it the day Crosman announced it (I think in early 2008), also Prod but I kind of stole it from Mrod, and Forti (for Benj. Fortitude) Yes! The old "show me yours/bait station.." thread from 2013 provides a great source of information on home-made backyard bait stations. I think I am going to sticky it. The only problem is many people used links to their pics in Photobucket back then, and since Photobucket started charging for storage a few years ago, a lot of good pics were lost and are shown as blank in the thread.Harry
