Gen 1 Marauder slug mods?

Hi Guys. I've been offline for quite some time. Boy how things have changed... I've built several fantastic performing QB 78's and 9's in HPA, but I'm looking for a new project. I inherited a gen 1 Marauder in 25 cal from my late father in law that I've never shot. Frankly, I prefer the economy of 22 cal, however I thought it would be fun to build a higher power airgun suited to my liking. I know there's a slew of info out there which I could find, but if any of you can shorten my search, it would be much appreciated. Here's what I'd like to do:

 I'd like to modify the stock gun to maximum practical energy without spending much if any money on new parts. I'm fully capable of modifying valves and such. Shot count is not that important as I'd be targeting larger game with this rig. Fox, turkeys (all of which I've killed with my .22 QB's) and maybe coyote.

I'd also like to explore the use of slugs in the modified gun as well... using the factory barrel. Interested in suggested accurate slugs or heavier pellets for the factory 25 barrel. Interested in the higher down range energy and expansion a slug might offer. Accuracy needs to be in the 5 shot, 1" range at 50 yards... which I've had no problem with in any of my QB's. Really interested in your personal experience.

Lastly, I dont like the factory wood stock. I've found I really like the pistol grip, AR style stocks both for target and hunting. I can build a stock (or modify the wood stock), but if there are any other options out there, I'd love to hear about them. I've already got a couple AR pistol grips and butstocks I can employ with the build. However, I wont be building a stock until I prove the mechanical mods suit my liking.

Hard to make time for hobbies, even in partial retirement, but airguns will always get my attention. Appreciate any input you can offer and again apologies for being lazy in my own research. Thanks, Troy

For starters , get a sample pack and of NSA slugs in different weights and sizes. Find the best performer from the sample pack and stick with that size and weight. Next is power out put , big ports from the valve inlet to the barrel to start then add weight to the hammer and a heavier hammer spring. That should get the most bang for the buck. All zero $ mods. Last is the stock. There used to be aftermarket AR buffer tube adapters available but haven’t seen them in a while. You could check with crosman as they make the marauder in a tactical version with pistol grip , buffer tube and at style handguard.

If the gun you inherited is one of the original mrods.  Then the barrel may not be suited for slugs.  If it is the Green Mountain barrel then maybe IMO.  I put an LW polygon barrel on mine at it shoots almost anything well, pellet and slug wise.
