Fighting the urge for a second 392, but a 392S to scope.

As I've shared here, I have a beautiful wood stock late model 392. With Williams aperture rear. I'm great with it out to 20 yards, and love most things about it. Brass, wood, steel and classic things that take me back to my youth. Oh.Thanks again to folks here helping me choose a scope base. I'll buy a Baker soon I hope. I sort of hate to leave the apertures behind....
 So. Folks am I a goofy old bald fat guy for wanting to buy a new , additional 392 (S) to scope and enjoy, while keeping my handsome aperture sighted 392PA? Guess I'm looking for other enthusiasts to assure this fella that it's not just wasteful to have two versions of the same old school air gun. Others here have variants of the same gun "just because"?
 Thrilled still with my Diana 460 magnum .22, my vintage Benjamin Franklin 347, and my handsome Diana 34 in .177.
But wow this air gun fascination could become expensive for a pensioner.

Don't fight the urge!
I have the 397S super strong gun, but I don't care for the high cheek weld on the stock.
If you scope it that may cure the issue.
I can't really say anything bad about the gun.

being a goofy, old, bald, fat guy has nothing to do with desires for an additional 392s.  I don’t see the connection, and I should know. 

Myself, if I wanted it, and could afford it, I’d get it.  Do something different with the 2nd one, though.  Two identical does seem a bit off.  Just my take.

I'm 62+. In the decades since the 70's I've watched manufacturing materials cheapen and techniques too. Yes there have been some changes in airgun and firearm final product particulars, but the Benjamin does retain the brass main component construction, steel rear sights and many other features that make me still see a gun close to the guns of my youth. At least in the "affordable to most" market. This is of course just my opinion please understand. I don't really feel bad buying another Benjamin for that reason. It feels like a bargain.
 Guess I've talked myself into it any way I study on the matter . And  a high cheek piece stock as on the 392S wouldn't be a fight to see through the scope as would my wood stocked 392PA without some sort of riser. I like that.

Why not find a used 397 with a wood stock (would be different)....can find some used for about the same price of a new 392s

   A man can't have to many guns and knives.  I have three Crosman 114s (along with a .177 model 113) and three 180s (and a .177 model 187).  I enjoy shooting all of them.  Go for it.  Your 392 does well with the peep sight at 20 yards, just wait till you see what it can do with a spyglass attached.

Folks I'm gonna "pull the trigger" on a 392S. I'll try the Leupold 1.5-4x regular rifle scope. Paralax might be a real problem but I'm willing to try.Anyone else here have a beloved spouse that says "Honey. You've worked hard all your life. You've saved, taken care of others, done everything you're supposed to do in life. You deserve to get the things you want. Just get it babe." Yes folks that's my Miss Penny. Bills are paid, upcoming surgery funds are budgeted for . What the heck. And I'm buying a Baker mount for the 392S.
 So.... the best price I'm finding on the 392S is $199 plus shipping, or free shipping with a BIG online place. Anyone know of better pricing they can share here or PM me about please?

My 392S arrives by UPS tomorrow, and my Baker mount arrives Monday. I don't know if I can get assembly of the gun, base and scope done though before rotator cuff repair surgery this coming week. And I sure won't be doing any pumping for a while with my dominant, surgical arm. But I can sure admire what I have for a while just looking my prize over as I watch reruns with my wife and dogs. Glad several members here were able to order one of these beautiful old-school rifles.

Thank you very much. Two torn tendons, one holding on by a few "fibers" the MRI showed. Never good timing. Hope to be back to shooting soon. And zipping up my own pants for that matter...
