First PCP

Everytime someone asks for suggestions for a first time PCP on a budget and hand pumping I recommend the GAMO Urban.
This time will be no different.
Going on 2 years with mine and not one single issue.... and I bought it slightly used.

I looked at that rifle online, but the specs say it fills to something like 3,300 psi???  I know I’m being a whimp, but that doesn’t sound too pump friendly to me.  Am I missing something?

You don't need to pump it to 3,300 PSI.

I generally pump all mine up to around 2,000-2,500 PSI. That's even with electric compressors... if I run out of air I just pump it up.

That is why I also recommend a regulated gun. You can keep the lead shot by shot in a flatter curve.

Well yeah, kinda.. The pressure tube is relatively small and lends itself to being hand pump friendly.

Just get the marauder pistol (Prod) and the cheap / affordable $60 Chinese pump on eBay. The Prod is easy to pump, accurate with the right pellets, good after market support, great parts support from crosman, and vast institutional knowledge of the gun from members on this forum.

I would get it from Pyramid Air and get the 10 for 10 shots service. They check for air leaks before shipping out. My Prod has held up well since I bought it last Nov 2020 and had since shot 5 tins of 500 pellets down range. Shooting dime to nickel size, pellet touching pellet groups at 32 yards.

Some people would suggest Gamo Urban, but it has no aftermarket support. I like to tinker with my 🔫

I can attest to the support of Crosman products.  Due to the moisture damage I caused by my Benjamin pump, I had to replace a few parts.  On the Discovery, I had to replace the fill valve, the main valve, a lot of o-rings, the gauge block, and a couple springs.  Then on my Marauder I had to replace the fill valve and the entire air tube.  All of these parts were easy to order from Crosman and pretty well priced.  If I hadn’t accidentally and repeatedly used a defective pump I wouldn’t have messed up two guns and would not have needed all of the above parts, but since I did, I’m glad they were so easy to get...
