Help me spend my money lol!

I'm wanting to get another airgun and I'm thinking about a budget 25 caliber pcp for small game this time.  Something with plenty of power (40+ FPE preferably) but nothing that requires major modifications to reach that level and as quiet as possible.  From what I've read I'm thinking a DAR Gen2 of a tuned Xisico 705 Sentry would probably give the most bang for the buck but I'm definitely open to suggestions.  I'm trying to stay around $500 or less so if there are better options please let me know.  Also, it looks like the DAR is out of stock, has anyone heard anything about when they might be available?

I just got my first PCP from Mike at Flying Dragon Airguns great guy and he will tune it for you.  I got the 705 in .22 and it fit my needs perfectly.

I really like my DAR but, I got lucky and got a good one out of the box... it seems others.. not so much.

Now, if you plan on spending the whole $500 on a gun there are other options. But, the extra $200 will get you a scope and pellets... lots of pellets. Or, you could get a tank to be filled. Or you could cough up another $100 and get a Yong Heng compressor and fill the gun directly.

I have a Flash in .177 and I bought a cheap compressor and a hand pump for it so for now I'm budgeting up to $500 for the gun

Yeah.... if it was my money I would do the Avenger and a nice scope.
Others will suggest otherwise I'm sure. I just like budget guns that perform well.
It does have external regulator setting and 2 gauges, one for fill and one for reg setting.

Ok, it seems as though the consensus is the Avenger but it's been out of stock everywhere I've checked. Do any of you know where I could find one?

I bought a 25 caliber Avenger and just sent it back Friday for a warranty repair because it leaks 150-200 psi per day.  I put several hundred pellets through it before deciding I wanted them to try and fix the leakage.  The lady on the phone when I called about returning it was very nice and thought it would only take a couple weeks.  Hopefully that's true and they fix it.

Mine likes FX pellets best of the ones I've tried around 25 grains.  It likes JSB Kings pretty well too.  King Heavies (not MKII) may be the most accurate.  When I shipped it, it was tuned to about 1600 psi on the regulator which pushed the Kings or FXs just shy of 800 fps and the King Heavies a little over 700 fps.  I'll probably take it to 1800 when it comes back and hope to get the 25 grain up to about 850 fps.  The regulator can be adjusted as high as 2900 psi - that is what it typically ships with.  I'm at about 40 fpe with the heavies at 700 fps with the lighter pellets at around 35 fpe.  I'm guessing it will do over 50 fpe if I want to take it there.  The first two projectiles I tried in it were H&N FTT pellets and Grizzly slugs.  It hated the Grizzlys and didn't like FTT pellets much either.  I was wondering about it's accuracy until I got some JSBs.  It shoots 1/4 to 1/2 inch 25 yard groups with all the JSBs I've tried and the FXs.  Sometimes I get five round groups under 1/4, mostly with the heavies.  I need to try it at longer range.

My trigger was too heavy with a lot of creep when I got it.  But that is externally adjustable too.  My Prod still has a better trigger but by changing all the adjustments including the sear (be careful with that one) I got it to be an OK trigger.  My hammer spring seems to be too heavy.  At the regulator setting of 1600 (admittedly low) it wants the spring all the way out. 

I put a Primary Arms 4-14 FFP side focus parallax scope on it.  With a simple mil dot recticle you can get it for about $200.  I like the scope and rifle a lot. 

Hope you have fun.  If you wanted to look at something other than an Avenger, I would look at a Hatsan.  It won't be regulated but they get pretty flat shot strings out of them without a regulator.  You might have to go down to something like a Hawke Vantage scope to stay within your budget but I have a Hawke 2-7 on my Prod and it is a good scope IMHO.  I'd want a 3-9 for an Avenger - it has more long range potential than a Prod. 

I did not buy my Avenger from Pyramid because they were out.  I got it from Midway.  If you cannot find anybody with one in stock I think getting on the list at Pyramid is a good idea.  I think they will get them as soon as anybody and I've found them to be good to work with.

I'd go with a Fortitude in .22.

I love mine... and I have a plethora of airguns at my disposal.
