1322 - Mod Questions - or just go PCP?

I have a stock 1322, and considering either modding it, or just getting a Marauder pistol.

My goal is a target and 25 yard small game gun.  I have an R7 that I don't seem to get along with and may or may not sell - but want something not hold sensitive for now.

The stock 1322 doesn't pump as nice or smooth as my 2100 - it squeaky and sticky a little, and a bit hard.  If I add a backpacker style pump grip, steel breech, longer barrel, and shoulder stock, will this gun get much smoother/nicer?  Not sure if I want to invest in it, or just pony up for the Marauder pistol and hand pump.  I have no compressor or tanks, and live in a small town, so I think hand pump is the only option for PCP for me.

It's really your call, in the end you will have as much money in the 1377 as you do the p-rod to get anywhere close to the same performance out of it.
The p-rod will have more power, multi shot capability, suppressed but on the down side only gets around 16 shots before needing to be refilled. Depending on how much you shoot you made need to haul the pump with you.
The 1377 has to be pumped every time, but the pump is always with you!

I think PCP is going to be the way to go - and I must say the Fortitude is also in the running, as the P-Rod would only be used carbine style.

Out of mine, they both make the same power and the forti has more reach, plus over 3x the shots in factory form. Only thing the forti needed out of the box imo was a trigger improvement, which came in the form of an m-rod trigger.

Huge thank you!  That's all I needed to go Fortitude!!!  Is the M-Rod trigger plug in or need modifying?

The MROD trigger assembly is, from what I have read, is a direct fit, but needs shimming for the sear/hammer to function properly w/o drag.

If you are aware, the MROD tube has a larger OD, so shimming the top section (a plastic milk jug will do) will make the set-up work.

Some users notch the hammer to prevent this phenomenon, thus negating the use of a shim.

Furthermore, the Challenger trigger assembly is said to be identical to the MROD’s.

I keep forgetting to order a Challenger trigger myself 😝

I am with this guy. I was calculating the costs of upgrading the 1322 to my liking and it turns out to be a cost of a marauder pistol. I decided to shelve the 1322 project for now and bought the Prod instead. Now I have two airguns to play with. I can spend the money on upgrading the 1322 but it will never perform even remotely close to the Prod.

Do both. Do the cheap and free mods to your 1322 while your waiting for a prod or fortitude. Be patient and a deal will come on a fortitude, prod, or longer barrel.

How about taking a 1322 and making it into a PCP?
I'm sure it's been done before.
I think I have enough spare lego parts to make one....LOL

It has been done, I have one, a custom build by someone else. They made an adapter that threads directly into the valve, negating the check valve portion. Then there is a threaded nipple, machined on an offset, allowing a cylinder to be attached, up to 1-1/4" diameter. I'm waiting on the opportunity to have a cylinder made up for it as we speak.

Fully modded 1377, Mellon Air F/T piston and valve. MagnumAirpower trigger and power valve. Discovery hammer spring. Super Sear. 18" Discovery barrel. TKO moderator. UTG BugBuster scope.

650 fps w/7.0g wadcutters @ 12 pumps. 

$350...whatever.... I LOVE IT!!

That bottle is stock so it's set at around 850 psi.
Reg pressure can be changed with shims so probably set it to around 1200 psi.
