I have a pump up .22cal air rifle, marked:
J.C. Higgins".22" caliber 12619301
Sears Roebuck and Co, made in U.S.A.
It is a fairly heavy short rifle, and shoots well but not a tack driver by any means.
Any ideas as to who made this I will be gone to Mayo clinic for a week or so, so I cannot post pix until I get back. I will try to get some pix of my "toys" online then.
any idea appreciated thanx!

According to what information I can find, Crosman and Daisy both made air rifles for Sears in the late 50's to mid- 60's. The Crosman was reportedly the model 180- the Daisys I haven't found any information on. I'd love to see a pic.

recheck your number. looking at my 5th edition blue book, no number 12619301 is listed. there is a 126.1930 which is the same as the 140/1400 , a 126.19331 , which is a model 760. the one Lizzie states as a 180 , that number is 126.1931. you stated it was a "pump" which it might be the 140/1400 or the 760.

YW
Now , Not a tack driver, sounds a little weak, might need seals? check out the post a few down, 2nd varient 140 results.
the 140's and 1400's I had , most shot in the mid 700's with 8-10 pumps. trigger was heavy, but thats expected with them when you pump that many times.

The J.C. Higgins version of the 140 is one of my favorite vintage airguns... There was one on gunbroker.com a couple of weeks ago... It looked so tempting but I'm up to my eyeballs with project guns...
