Blizzard puked ALL the air after a shot

Was nailing blackbirds across a pond at about 40 yards and after a shot the major hissing started. Felt the barrel end and air was coming out there as well as at the breech where the magazine goes. Tries loading another pellet and shooting to see if it would stop - without success.

A bit of barrel pressure built up and the pellet shot out at slow speed and the rifle proceeded to empty itself of air completely.

Who takes care of the Blizzards? Might be the time to have a Foster fitting put on so it fills more easily and an Air Arms s510 cap or Marauder cap for better protection.

Anyone know what seal or problem happened to cause this? Also who to get in contact with/address/website so I can get it taken care of. Think it is a Mr. Piatt, but don't know for sure.

Thanks guys. I did drive back to the house and took the rifle in and went back with the s510 to shoot  few more blackbirds and hope for a shot at the beavers before the light faded.

Not sure who would repair it, is it by chance under warranty?
But as Bob said, either the valve stuck open or the hammer stuck. May be from debris or a part failure.

Perhaps it is a karma problem (joking).

I guess it depends on what the definition of "depredations" is!

Depending on your state, you might want to check into the laws regarding taking Beaver.... In Canada, they may only be taken with a Trapper's licence, and then only acccording to the terms of the licence.... Even if they are flooding your land, you can't just kill them....

In our area Blackbirds are major crop disasters - prime pest animals responsible for many farmers here no longer raising sunflowers. The blackbirds decimate the sunflower crop, at times taking over 80% of the seeds from the heads before harvest.

They also hurt the corn crop as they strip the tassels from the plants and prevent heads from forming.

So, we shoot them just as we do Geese - with permits as pest animals that cause major crop damage.

At last years harvest prices a pair of geese living on the pond in a field will eat $500-1600 in crop, depending on what was planted. If they have young the crop loss can double.

With many ponds, sloughs and lakes here and dry land farming planting around them it gets serious.

So, shoot muskrats from the ponds, sloughs and whatnot alongside the roads to try and control road damage. Shoot geese and blackbirds for crop damage. Shoot raccoons - they really can strip corn fields fast. Badgers make large dens and holes that can damage farm machinery in the fields..., and a new axle for a combine can be tens of thousands of dollars. Not to mention workers getting hurt when a large den collapses and the machinery tips over.

So, we are in a constant battle here to protect the crops so harvest yields are worth the effort.

Sonds likw you have a target rich enviroment, guess your airguns are more tools than plesure really.

Anyway, Will Piatt is your Man, he can give the rifle a teriffic trigger tune too, and you can get him to tune it to whatever power/shot count suits your needs the most.

Mine has a valve lock too. Drains all the air out. Looks like valve is stuck open. I can still fire gun but valve doesn't re seal itself anymore
