FWB 65 trouble installing bumper

Hope this question belongs here.

I cannot install the little bumper that goes in the hole in the bottom of the face of the compression tube on my FWB 65, even with lube.  A YouTube video shows this being easily pressed in with a thumb.

The part came from Pyramid Air along with a piston buffer and breach seal.

Any ideas?
