Fwb 124 has new eyes

Read a review of it and decided to try a sightmark core crossbow scope. I wanted something as small and light as possible for my 124 but the peep sight was just too hard to use. My eyes aren’t good enough any more and after a dozen or so shots the peep made my eyes hurt.
Didn’t want anything big and heavy, trying to keep the balance as close as possible to the peepsight. This sightmark is exactly what I wanted. Between 10 and 30 yards it is clear, no parallax adjustment needed. Wide field of view, light, useful reticle for ranging. Overall very happy with it, only possible problem is the ocular adjustment isn’t staying put. Maybe it’s a bad scope? Already contacted sightmark.

Nice looking rifle. I have a few of those as well. A deluxe and a standard model. I shoot my spring guns at 3-4X as well. I like the larger field of view, and truthfully would not shoot much better at high magnification.

What is the magnification and how much does it weight. Seems full sized to me....

It’s less than 9 inches long, 13 oz. It is noticeably lighter than my 4x12 sightron.

I was considering a red dot type sight but this makes much more sense to me. It’s as close to having open sights as you can get using a scope.

13 oz is indeed light. but you are comparing a fixed 3x scope to a 4-12X scope. Sort of like comparing a Smart car to a Camaro with the V-6.
Whatever works for you...

Not trying to get you to buy one? My point is that compared with open sights I can shoot much better and I don’t feel the need for anything over 3 or 4 power for under 30 yards. The only thing I’m comparing is weight and usability.

I definitely did not have that issue with Sightmark Core I tested. Hopefully the manufacturer will make it right for you!

I replaced the scope on my HW95L with the new Hawke AIRMAX 30 SF COMPACT 4-16x44. This model is compact, 6 brightness levels for the IR and has side focus for the parallax adjustment. My wife likes the illuminated IR feature. This combo weighs 9 lbs.

Quick update, really happy with sightmark customer service. Got my scope back today, looks like they just sent me a brand new one, new rings, everything brand new and unopened. No charge, no questions, just good, quick service! Highly recommend sightmark based on this.
