Adjustable Scope Ring (windage & elevation)

Have any of you experimented with adjustable scope mounts? I have a digital scope that I'd like to zero as best I can with adjustable scope mounts before dialing it in perfectly via the scope's internal adjustments.
My question is, do I need to by two adjustable scope mounts or can I use one that is rigid and one that is adjustable? I know that some shimming would be necessary if I only had one adjustable mount, just wondering if this is even a possibility or if two are a must.

Have never seen any available individually, always as a pair.
PS: I would try the scope mounter as is. It may have plenty of adjustment as is. Centering is usually done on optical scopes, not sure the digital scopes require it.

There are plenty of options, including adjustable rails....
➔ I'll attach a
Scope Mountig Table
for 30mm below — you've got a good 20 options there (one of the cheapest is from Sun Optics, but not included because it's a hassle to use).
I'm sure you'll find something that fits the bill. 😊

Paulie, the digital scopes are a different animal altogether. Because you are looking at a screen with a fixed resolution you cannot crop the screen without throwing away pixels (and the scope will not do that). So once you have zeroed your scope you end up with is a reticle that is not in the center of the screen, but only when zoomed all the way out to zero magnification. Anything past about 3x magnification and the reticle is dead center in the view. I did not know this when I purchased my digital scope and thought something was wrong after I zeroed it. Turns out that nothing was wrong and that is just the way it is... but I don't like it. I'm just one of those guys who wants my toys the way I want my toys so I'm researching alternative options. From what I understand the only option available to me is to set the reticle to the center of the screen and adjust the reticle to align with the POI via adjustable scope rings (as best I can). Then fine tune the scope's zero the traditional way by moving the reticle. There is nothing wrong with the scope the way it is, I simply do not like the reticle being off center because it looks wrong to me. It functions perfectly, but I'd rather it look at act like what I'm accustomed to.

Joe,
I understand. I DO! 😄
Same here. I want them to work —
my
way.
🔶 OK, here's another solution for you — funny, because I just bought this last week. It's on my desk now, I opened the package, but I haven't tried it yet.
It is a
SCOPE RAIL WITH TURRETS!!
No kidding. 😄
90 smoa of elevation adjustment.
60 smoa of windage adjustment.
And you can reset the rail to go beyond these values.
Looks like a serious piece of aluminum construction. Comes in a nice silvery bag, 3 allen keys incl.
Clicks of the SMOA turrets are firm.
It's called the:
Camiszon
Adjustable Scope Base
ZB Lite Pro
Here's the Amazon link:

JungleShooter thank you so much for sharing. I’ll look into this as well.
I spent the good part of the evening last night going through your scope chart. Thanks again for sharing that document with the group. It obviously took some time to collect all that information so I appreciate your generosity in sharing it.

The adjustable rail looks like it has everything I want but I’m not sure about the additional height it would add to my sight line. I’m already dealing with more height than I’d like to be and this setup looks to add even more.
Unfortunately for me it also appears to be the most solid mount I’ve seen.
It’s definitely on the short list, especially if I can combine it with some low 30mm rings

here is another option, these have 32"+ of adjustment up/down, I used then on my Crosman 150 pistol when I scoped it.

Don,
I've seen the Monstrum adjustable scope rings several times, and their price is unbeatable — if you've got a 1" tube.
I haven't seen them for 30mm, unfortunately..... 😟

Matthias, how much height does the adjustable scope base add? I’m trying to figure out what rings I’d need if I decide to go with the adjustable base. I believe my lens is 63+/-mm. Seems like the adjustable base adds a few mm so I’m hoping to find some low 30mm rings that could bring my scope lower than it is now. As you can see in the photo my setup sits pretty high.

I just found this option as well.
Which sounds really great. Zero my scopes and have the option to put them on any of my rifles as long as the rifle is equipped with one of those.
I’m sure that is true with any adjustable base but this option has plenty of rail to mount my large scope to.
https://tacticalfanboy.com/2017/09/09/mod-zero-defense-m-zero-zeroable-picatinny-rail/
Darn it was too good to be true. I don’t think this mount ever made it into production.

Joe,
I measured from the bottom of the bottom picatinny grabber, to the bottom of the upper picatinny grabber = 16mm = 0.64"That's actually pretty low = good.
Your gun has a magazine sticking up, right?
Sorry.
OK, without having the gun here, it seems I'd try to mount it as follows (study the diagram in the
Manual
I posted).
(1) The 54mm in the diagram: That area on the bottom of the ZB LitePro is actually 82mm long, and this area will grab onto your gun's picatinny rail.
(2) The rest of the total of 145mm is only an overhang, it does not touch the bottom rail. But it is only 5mm taller than the bottom grabbers, so not enough for your magazine.
(3) I would mount the ZB LitePro normal, i.e., the overhang facing forward (it could also be mounted the other way around). I would mount it forward of the magazine.
(4) Then I would mount a cantilever mount to the ZB LitePro top rail (90mm short). You already are using a cantilever, but you might want one that is hanging even further out toward the back -- and one that is lower than yours.
(5) Sorry, I haven't researched
low cantilever mounts
, but I'd be happy to include what you find in the next edition of the Scope Mounting Table!
Hope this works out for you!!

No magazine on the 1720t. It’s a single shot so I don’t worry too much about saving space around the chamber.
Thank you for the measurements, they are very helpful.
I am going to have to dissect what you have said while looking at the diagram you posted. You’ve given me lots of good information to dig into and digest while punching holes in my target box.
