Benjamin Wildfire - not a very good gun?

They're out of production, but I do LOVE my 1077, and love the idea of the Wildfire.  I put an ad in classifieds seeking one, but all I got was two offers on two guns that won't hold air.  I declined, because as I understand it, the 1077 is a very difficult gun to work on?

So are they just a nice idea that didn't work? Leaking must be a common problem?

It's a shame if so though cuz the idea of a sorta semi auto PCP at that price point is very appealing.....

I have a leaker too. They are a pain to take apart. Maybe this winter I will pull mine apart again and try epoxy this time.

I had one. Trigger is rediculous for hunting. You might know that already.
I took mine apart and am gonna use the air tube to make a small pcp carbine out of. If they coulda gave it a thumb hammer so you could cock it and have a lightweight trigger instead of double action trigger at 8# pull then I’d be interested.

I to own a leaky one as well, eventually I will take it apart and fix it. You are better off with the Ruger 10/22 replica co2 rifle if you still want a repeater.

Well I don't have any problems with my 1077 in co2.  I like that it only takes one powerlet too.

I just think it would be cool as a PCP if it worked.

Absolutely true, I have both the Crosman 1077 and the Umarex 10/22. Though the 1077/Wildfire can be improved, the 10/22 is much better designed, easier to work on and get to seal than the 1077. I'm currently studying the feasability of a PCP conversion on the Ruger.
