“new posts since your last visit” link missing

Last time i absolutely rember seeing that when i logged in was last Friday. was busy all day yesterday so didnt look, but log in this morning and its not there.
was in the upper left hand corner of the screen. also doenst matter if im trying it from windows or the ipad.....

is there a setting to get that back?  Some other process to recover that?

really made it easy to keep up without slogging thru the individual gates
