Sights for HW 95

I purchased a used HW95 Luxus from a guy that got it from an estate. He told me that it was a safe queen. The gun is in excellent condition and is a shooter. I think it has been tuned and it has had the screw inserts,(brass) installed on the two front screws in the stock. The gun came without any sights. I put a hammer scope that I had on it and it was shooting 3/8" groups at 25 yds. From the bench. I decided to clean it since I didn't know if it had been cleaned or how long since it had been. After reading some posts, I used goo gone on some patches pulled with the flexible cleaning kit, can't remember the name right now, that I bought from an airgun site. It is basically a string with a loop in it and an outer soft plastic sleeve and when pulled tightens around the patch. After cleaning with goo gone, I ran several dry patches through the barrel and shot it. The groups were not as tight and were inconsistent. Sorry for the long story here but I am thinking that my scope has lost its zero. I recently moved and my range is now 20 yards and less which got me thinking that maybe I should just shoot this gun with open sights. I have a .22 Benji with open sights that is very accurate and I also shoot a marauder pistol in .22 with carbine stock scoped with a UTG scope that is a good shooter as well. So two questions, does anyone know where I could pickup some good used factory sights for this gun and does anyone know, other than scope failure what could be causing the change in accuracy? Thanks for enduring my long rambling post but I wanted to give some background since I am new to posting.

Hey Greg,
Welcome to the GTA
.
Answers:
1) After cleaning your barrel with Goo Gone, it may take upwards to 100 shots to re-lead the barrel. The imperfections in the barrel may need to be filled in with lead before regaining it's accuracy. This is why you shouldn't clean an airgun's barrel unnecessarily; only when it's accuracy has dropped off.
2) Your right, it could be the scope too and the cleaning was just a coincidence. Ty another scope that works correctly, or shoot open sights.
3) You may want to advertise in the classifieds that you WTB open sights for a HW95 Lexus. You may have to wait until you have 20 posts before you qualify. Read the Classified Ad guidelines.
IMO, you should scope the HW95 Lexus as it's capable of good accuracy out to 75+ yard.

i will second what Kirk has already said, leading the barrel is a real thing IMO and both accuracy and velocity get better when barrel is leaded right.
I have my set of open sights for my beeman r9 that id be happy to part with if your interested as im probably never going to use them on this gun, just let me know if youd like them.

Finding sites should be no problem. The front globe with insets is avaliable on most airgun sites. Rear may be harder.
Does the barrel have the groves for the front globe?

Cleaning an air rifle barrel commonly causes a temporary loss of accuracy, so give it a few until you have had enough time to "lead" the barrel a little.

Thanks everyone for your responses. Yeh SpiralGroove, I got a little anal about wanting to clean the barrel and make sure it was in good shape. I have been shooting and cleaning powder burners for 47 years, old habits are hard to break! I will be patient Lizzie, and shoot it before passing judgement on the scope. Yogi, the barrel does have grooves for the front site, I am sure that it originally had sights on it. Bladebum, I appreciate your offer on the sights. I would be interested in getting them if they have all if the globe inserts with them. Just let me know what you want for them.
