Good short crisp trigger.

Gnat neuter accurate out to 35.
Noise don't bother me... bring on the LOUD.
And it has to look good hanging on the wall because that's where it will spend most of it's life...

Interesting comments here. It is nice to see that many are satisfied with moderate power levels. And I love the fact that it seems almost everyone are wood stock fans (not Woodstock, or maybe both)

Welp, I don't really have a particular wish list. I haven't been using springers that long. Little over 3 years, maybe. I was happy w/ my Crosman .177 Optimus after I'd changed the factory scope to a 4X Barska, AO mildot and got that sighted in at 25 yards w/ JSB 10.34's.

I'd read a thread here at GTA that advised for coon hunting ... the springer needed to be at least a 15 fpe airgun, had to have a minimum of 10 fpe for brain shots, using pellets of at least 10 gr's and its accuracy had to be capable of a 1" kill zone.

My Optimus was capable of 10 lbs fpe at 45 yards w/ the JSB 10.34 gr, & like I said I could hold a 1" group at 25 yards w/ it. I was working on extending my effective range w/ it....

When last year at Pyramid Air's Pre-BFD sale, they had Crosman .22 Summit Ranger NP2's on sale for $99.95.

Ok, so I got one of those. Much more effective for coons, amirite? Bought a Daisy Winchester 2-7X AO for it, (that scope is now on my Backpacker) & later acquired a Tasco 2.5-10X 42mm for it.

That one shoots easy 1" groups at 30 yards.

Now, I'm working on extending my effective range w/ the SR. I'm really happy w/ it and my Optimus.

Maybe that's why I don't have a particular wish list for a springer?

not so much a “wood lover” just that a) daveg stocks are cooll looking and functional and b) ok with plastic, but it has to be more than just the bean counters keeping cost low.  you said dream big....

You're welcome, Archie. That's me. A satisfied customer. Thing I like best about the SR? It has an even flatter trajectory w/ 14.3 gr pellets than does my .177 Optimus. According to Chairgun, anyway. I haven't done as much 50 yard shooting (or farther) w/ it as I'd like. It's either been too windy or raining in this neck of the woods.

Having recently upgraded my backpacker and scoped 1377 w/ FT piston/valves & Boss Buddy's from Alchemy Airwerks, I can't really see anything more I particularly want ATM.

Aside from wanting my FT piston/valve from Mellon Air to arrive so I can upgrade my brown, unscoped 1377, w/ that & the 3rd BB I got from AA.

I even nailed a pigeon this afternoon w/ my brand spanking new P-17 that arrived in the mail yesterday along w/ the parts from AA. I think I might just like that P-17 as a close range pest controller.

At present, I think I've got all the bases covered from close range pesting, to medium range pesting, to fairly long range pesting.

Peter, when I read CZ in you post it made me re-think perfect springer. Easy to shoot and cock, light and accurate. 631.

In mosin front sight do you mean front adjustable for elevation and windage?

Mosin sights front and rear- my CZ-634 has a nice front sight but so did my Mosin.  I loved the elevation ramp on my old Mosin in the rear; it would be perfect for a .30 springer lobbing pellets in a graceful arc at pest birds and paper.

Basically, I'd want a bigger-bore CZ-634 with a laminated birch stock.  And yep, I'm a big fan of CZ barrels.
