Mounted 392 under a new scope

6x24x42 Tasco scope. The mounting turned out well and the longer length of this scope fit the 392 design. The gun shoulders well , has good clearance to load pellets. I heated and bent the bolt handle slightly for clearance.
I made the mounts out of 6061 aluminum.
The scope finishes off a very nice 392.
755 fps@6 pumps, JSB 15.89 pellets.
20 fpe.

I did have an issue with not enough elevation adjustment. I had to shim the front mount .046”. The gun like all 392s have upwards deflection of the barrel caused by pump pressure. The opposite of barrel droop.
The shim causes the saddles not to be parallel. I could machine the angle on the mounts but probably leave it be.

Wow,

A little bit of smoke there. Good power remaining down range.
This is my first mil-dot scope. I’ve been playing with ChairGun to check holdover at different ranges. Very cool.
I am going to do some more paper.
I shot two .750” groups @ 27 yards and put it away. Now waiting for a scope level I ordered to arrive.
I have another project to mount the same scope on my other 392PA sometime.
With the higher magnification and scope level, the human error will be less so better evaluation of different pellets and such will be possible.

I purchased a scope level that attaches to the scope tube. I couldn’t see it that well so I didn’t use it.
Came up with something better. The later model 392PA has a flat on the stock. I attached a level on this flat with mounting tape. Now, I can glance down with my right eye and check the level without taking eye off scope target.
