Got my amazon spanner yesterday. BD
Rather than wait:http://www.scotthull.us/photos/Armada/Ninja-flex-00.gcodeI designed it with four prongs so a little tricky to slide in place. It is printed from PLA so it won't mar the finish on the regulator. The bigger problem is that it they no longer come with the pin valve.
... a STL. file
...No pin valve isn't really a problem- the pin valve just impedes air flow. Back when modifying Ninja regs and their clones, one would remove the pin valve as part of re-doing the reg. It's not like the tank blocks have an on/off in which to engage the airflow anyway... I wonder how that wrench would do in ABS? Do you have a file for that wrench? I click on the link and it's just the (I'm assuming) entire g-code... I don't have a printer yet, but I want to get into it...Also, when I quoted your post, I see there's supposed to be pictures... I'm not seeing them? This isn't the first time- I wonder why I'm not seeing pictures on various people's posts?! Quite frustrating!
The pin valve is upstream from the plenum, so flow rate is not an issue. It has no affect on shooting performance. I have removed the pin valve when installing regs for blocks that do not include an actuator pin. My bottle gun does have an on/off valve, just like a paintball gun. In the course of normal shooting, I don't use it, but it's very convenient to have if I do need it. I can fill the tank before installing it. I like to check the regulator function/adjustment before installing on the gun. My regulator test device uses the pin valve. I can swap tanks easily without draining them. I can meter a small amount of air into the plenum to test different pressures without adjusting the reg. I have never had a bottle regulator that did not have a pin or ball valve. So there are lots of reasons why it should have the pin valve. They should at least include the parts with the reg, in case someone needs it. The seal for the pin valve appears to be there, just no pin or spring. If it won't have the pin, they should make it clear in the info. I was expecting it to be there, so was disappointed when it was not.For now I went ahead and installed the empty bottle it without the pin, and then filled it, and finally adjusted the regulator to 3000psi. When the parts get here from Ninja, I'll take it apart and install the pin valve. I plan on doing some chrony testing today and hopefully some 100 yard shooting tomorrow.
