i was thinking about using one of then cone shaped dremmel bits to widen the opening alittle(by hand) so the pellet will seat further down. good or bad?

Tom i see no harm as long as you do it by hand and just small bits at a time. I myself have several i have did that to and it help the acuraccy. Thanks David
