If for nothing other than so that you know it is possible....I've seen and held what you're trying to do. A friend machined a thick diameter barrel into a single unit barrel/breech for a Crosman Disco/2400/2240 family gun. I wish I knew more details and measurements but I don't. Just wanted to give you confidence in following through with your idea.
