Hello Liz
I am a little slow. Well, actually it is the GTA that is slow.
When I change gates, the little wheel turns for 15 seconds sometimes. And there is a message at the bottom left: "Establishing Secure Connection"
What could be causing this slow operation?

Travis posted that there are updates being done and that’s likely causing the problems.

Most likely web bots spamming us. The powers to be need to have our web host put the brakes on them.

My computer says it's performing a TLS handshake - whatever that is. GTA is the only forum I log onto which ever gives that message. It's not like it only performs said handshake once. The handshake thing is performed with my every interaction with GTA. Yes, I interact with other international sites.

Is there a possibility this site uses a combination of encrypted and non encrypted content? The site would not respond to diagnostics from cloudflare.com.

All the time stamps are wrong also. I am in Eastern Time Zone (EST) and it's currently 8:58pm. It says Lizzie's last post was posted today a 9:40 something PM. Since it takes an hour for the page to load that may just work out. But seriously, all the time time stamps are an hour fast & it took me 6 tries to get this gate to open.

Yes, very very , (and one more very) slow
Reassuring to know however that the problem is not on my home laptop or network.
It will undoubtedly get fixed on the website

It is now 9:15 EST and it seems to be loading awesome again, just checking the time stamp issue here. YAY !!

EDIT--- time stamp is still an hour fast FWIW

Not sure if it was the 100 Chinese IP addresses I banned or our host tech support found an issue. Either way it seems to be back as it should be.

Tech support says a process in the server was hung up causing the issue. Seems that process was either shoutbox (which we have never used) or and IRC app. That would be the chatroom. Computers....don't you just love them?
